1939 Masters Tournament Player Invitation Letter
Presented here is an invitation to play at the 1939 Masters Tournament. Ralph Guldahl was one of the top golfers in the late 1930's and early 1940's and won the 1939 Masters Tournament among his 16 PGA Tour wins. The sixth tournament in this historical Spring ritual was contested in 1939, and was adversely affected by terrible weather from the get-go with the first round being postponed until Friday, and Saturday's second round including hail, wind and rain. These delays weather delays mandated a finale of 36 holes on Sunday April 2 which was conquered in record fashion at 279 (-9) by Ralph Gudahl, this mark for low aggregate score stood until Ben Hogan eclipsed it in 1953. This player's invitation presents in excellent condition and will display very well.
