The posed 'Former King of Golf' Bobby Jones was captured March 30 smiling at the camera while donning slacks, white shirt and tie in this outstanding crystal clear 1936 Masters shot holding Calamity Jane by Acme Newspictures News Service, a full-body shot at Augusta National for this crystal clear Type I photo. While Jones would retire from competitive golf in 1930, he would contest in his Masters Tournament (called Augusta Invitation Tournament until 1938) a dozen times with a single Wd until 1948. In 1936 he would use Calamity Jane on his home course for a 33 place finish. Bobby Jones and Masters will forever be linked together, as two of the most important golf subjects in the history of the game should be.
