The 1934 U.S. Open was held June 7–9, 1934, at Merion Golf Club in Ardmore, Pennsylvania. Offered here is a scarce contestant's pin from that event. It does have enamel chipping to both the white and red areas on the facing. The reverse is missing its pin clasp. Those are the detracting points. More important to note is that any example of this years contestant pin is challenging to locate. Reverse of pin carries the manufacturers hallmark stamp "Robbins Co. Attleboro, Mass". Olin Dutra overcame an eight-stroke deficit after 36 holes to edge Gene Sarazen by a stroke to win his first U.S. Open and second major championship. Pick this one up you will not see another for a long time.

Session 1: Lots 1-500 will end on 4/11/13 and Session 2 Lots 500+ will end on 4/14/13 with extended bidding to start at 9:00 PM EST for both sessions. In order to bid in extended bidding you must place a bid on the lot before 9pm on auction closing day.
