1934 Eastward Ho! Golf Club Warth Challenge Sterling Silver Trophy With Wooden Base
In Felixstowe, Suffolk, England from 1914 to 1951, the then 9 hole club course originally designed by Harold H Hilton Eastward Ho! Golf Club would be expanded to 18 by James Braid. The lion share of the holes were routed behind Links Avenue and to the East of the Grove prior to meandering back to Gulpher Road. This sterling silver stamped trophy was awarded to the worthy recipient of the Warth Challenge Mrs A. Knight, it is extremely elegant in every way from the dual handles to the intricate line around the opening. It sits atop a wooden plinth to stand 3" tall. The engraving reads "Eastward Ho! G.C. - Warth Challenge Trophy - Won By - Mrs A. Knight - 1934.' Excellent condition as depicted in the accompanying lot photos.
