1933 Craig Wood Pasadena Open Golf Championship Vintage Acme Newspictures Press Photograph
A vintage black and white press photograph of professional golfer Craig Wood at the Pasadena Open Golf Championship in Pasadena, California. The photograph, dated December 21, 1933, depicts the World Golf Hall of Fame inductee at the top of his follow-through. He is positioned beneath an elaborate decorative arch made of greenery and white flowers spelling out the year 1934. The reverse side features a red ink credit stamp from Acme Newspictures, Inc. of New York City and a purple ink date stamp reading DEC 1933. A typed paper caption strip is affixed to the lower edge, identifying the subject, event, location, and date of December 21, 1933, with a credit line date of 12/23/33. This was a PGA Tour event between 1929 and 1938 that was contested at the Brookside C.C. (next door to Rose Bowl).
