1932 Bobby Jones Sweetacres Sports Champions #35 PSA Good 2
Inserted in 'Sweetacres' chewing gum packs based out of Australia, the 48 card 'Sports Champions' checklist casted a wide net featuring hobby entries from tennis stars such as Ellsworth Vines and Bill Tilden, cricketers and #35, and of course golf's grand slam champion Bobby Jones. A closeup black and white shirt and tie profile shot of the youthful Jones smiling is exhibited on the frontside of the card, photography work that is framed closer than others in the collecting segment. Identifying the star, the depiction is underlined with 'Bobby Jones' in the white stripe just below. Verso includes the Sweetacres Champion Chewing Gum promotional header with an understated, perhaps foreign view of Jones' accomplishments 'Amateur Champion Golfer of the world, winner of many American and English championships.' The latter mentioning his 1930 US Open, US Amateur and Open and British Amateur Championships without listing them. With great eye appeal, this 1930 Sweetacres is encapsulated by PSA #28519022 for valuation (Good 2), presentation and preservation. It is a of Pop 7 with just 54 higher.
