1931 US Amateur at Beverly Country Club Contestant Badge - Francis Ouimet Winner
While many consider Bobby Jones to be the greatest amateur golfer ever to play, Francis Ouimet is known as the "father of amateur golf" in the United States. Ouimet won the 1913 U.S. Open and the U.S. Amateur Championship in 1914 and 1931. With exactly 17 years in between to the day, celebrated amateur golfer Ouimet out-dueled Jack Westland 6 and 5 in the 1931 US Amateur final match in Chicago at Beverly. This week long admittance badge to compete in the United States Golf Association Championship provided its bearer the opportunity to participate in this historically significant event. Using white and forest green enamel on the front side, this classic 'USGA' contestant badge design with scalloped edging presents extremely well. It is in good to very good condition, with the reverse markers mark and pin intact.

2. During extended bidding, you are allowed to bid only on items you PREVIOUSLY placed a bid on.
3. All lots that are active in extended bidding will close at the same time, and those with only ONE or NO BIDS will close at 9pm EST
