1931 Francis Ouiment 'New Golf King' Welcomed Home after US Amateur Win Original Photo
While many consider Bobby Jones to be the greatest amateur golfer ever to play, Francis Ouimet is known as the "Father of Amateur Golf" in the United States and in this photo the "New Golf King." Ouimet won the 1913 U.S. Open and the U.S. Amateur Championship in 1914 and 1931. All smiles was Francis Ouimet in 1931 at the US Amateur victory party holding his daughter with his family, notching his second of the kind and third 'major.' This is a close, crystal clear shot of the man in the crowd. The verso carries the appropriate stamping and caption. 8" x 10"
