1930 Seminole Golf Club Trophy Won by Milton W. Holden

Here is one of the first awards ever presented by Seminole Golf Club! The then sparkling new, and now historic, Seminole Golf Club's first tee time was set for New Year's Day in 1930. It was the unveiling of Donald Ross' masterpiece design that New York City investment banker Edward Francis Hutton brought to life. That same inaugural year of play this engraved trophy ice bucket was given to worthy recipient and champion of the club's marquee Par Tournament - prominent business man Milton W. Holden. The sparkling new club, designed by one of the leaders in the course architecture industry, Seminole Golf Club's Southeastern Florida site was chosen in part for its sand dune ridges that were used for hole construction. Running along the Atlantic Ocean, the back and fourth 18-hole layout on a rectangular grounds allows the wind direction to change as much as the scores on the card.

This exquisite trophy ice bucket from the Ross track has been preserved admirably for nearly a century, remaining aesthetically appealing and proudly bearing the pertinent tournament information in the center inside the horizontal rings "Seminole Club - Par Tournament - 1930 - Won By Milton W. Holden." Significant in the eyes of a Seminole Golf Club collector or simply historian of the game of golf that knows the private and elite Florida club's place in the game.

AUCTION CLOSING RULES:

Place your bids now as this auction will close LOT BY LOT beginning at 10:00pm EDT Sunday, May 22nd. When placing your INITIAL bid in the auction, you must agree to the terms BEFORE confirming your bid. All items with multiple bidders in the auction will be eligible for the extended bidding period. Each lot will have its OWN COUNTDOWN CLOCK set for a 30-minute interval, and the clock will extend 30-minutes from the time of the most recently placed bid for that lot. If no bids are placed on that lot during a 30-minute period, the lot will close. Place your bids now!

1. You must place your initial bids BEFORE extended bidding begins to bid on the item in extended bidding
2. During extended bidding, you are allowed to bid only on items you PREVIOUSLY placed a bid on.
3. All lots with only ONE or NO BIDS will automatically close at 10pm EDT
4. All available lots will begin closing on a LOT BY LOT basis at 10pm EDT

**Once extended bidding starts at 10pm EDT, each lot will then begin closing with its own 30-minute countdown timer. Lots without a bid during extended bidding will close at 10:30pm ET. We recommend you place your maximum bid(s) prior to that time. Thank you**
