1930 Scioto Country Club Letter of Acceptance for 1931 Ryder Cup Matches Tournament
Contained in this lot is a letter from T.B. Sellers, President of the Scioto Country Club, accepting the 1931 Ryder Cup matches on behalf of his club. While accepting a priority of his was to iron out some of the finance sharing aspects with the PGA of America, to jointly find success putting the international event on in Columbus, Ohio. Also included in this lot is the response from the PGA that gets into the proposed revenue take home percentages for each of the associations. In only the third playing of the Ryder Cup Matches the United States captained by Walter Hagen was victorious 9-3 points behind the firepower of the likes of Gene Sarazen, Horton Smith, Craig Wood and Denny Shute. A letter of from PGA Historian Bob Denney will accompany this lot.

All items that have received multiple bids in the auction will remain open until no items have received a bid within a 15 minute time period (at 10pm EST, the countdown clock will be adjusted to a 5 minute interval). 1. You must place your initial bids BEFORE extended bidding begins in order to bid on the item in extended bidding
2. During extended bidding, you are allowed to bid only on items you PREVIOUSLY placed a bid on.
3. All lots that are active in extended bidding will close at the same time, and those with only ONE or NO BIDS will close at 9pm EST
