1930 NY Times Sports Section - Horton Smith Defeats Bobby Jones - Grand Slam Year!
Dated February 23, 1930, the newspaper displays photos of both Smith and Jones, and is accompanied by tournament articles regarding the play. Horton was the only golfer to defeat Bobby during his Grand Slam year, achieving the feat by one stroke at the Savannah Open stroke play event.
