1927 'Abe Mitchell: Essentials Of Golf' Book
Abe Mitchell was a renowned British golfer, finishing in the top 10 of the Open Championship 8 times. Mitchell was the personal instructor of Samuel Ryder, of Ryder Cup fame, and thus the figure atop the Ryder Cup trophies is modeled after Mitchell. In return, Mitchell dedicated this book to Ryder as seen in the book credits. Date of publication is significant, as 1927 was the first Ryder Cup playing between the United States and Great Britain teams. This blue hardcovered copy remains in good condition with some inside page discoloration as depicted in the accompanying lot photos.
