1923 The Army Golfing Society Blackwatch Sterling Silver Medal
The Army Golfing Society was founded in 1913. It is a golfing Society
open to all serving and retired members of the British Army. The
Society plays matches against other societies and golf clubs as well as
holding annual Summer and Autumn meetings.
Among the cups and medals played for in the early 1920’s were the
Black Watch gold and silver medals. We have here the Blackwatch
sterling silver medal with a 1923 Birmingham hallmark (anchor lion and
small letter y) to the rim.
This relatively large 1 ½ “medal was crafted by silversmiths Walker and
Hall and has their mark to the rim.
A nice 1920’s historical medal from a Society still active today.
