1919 US Open at Brae Burn CC Pairing Sheet - Walter Hagen Win
From 107 years ago comes this four-page official pairing sheet for Walter Hagen's 1919 US Open win held at Brae Burn Country Club in West Newton, Massachusetts, from June 9th to 11th, 1919. It wasn't given to the Haig just because he was donning the finest attire after hopping out of a top-of-the-line automobile, he had to earn it. After an 18-hole playoff with Mike Brady Hagen captured his second US Open win in the first playing after World War I. The front cover features advertising from Victors showing soldiers with an artillery piece whose wheel is a golf ball - a line of balls from Wright & Diston. The interior pages contain comprehensive starting time lists for morning and afternoon rounds with columns for player names, home clubs, and scoring. The back cover features a square box with the number 75 above a dimple-patterned golf ball and the text AMERICA’S LEADING GOLF BALL..
