1913 PGC (Palmetto Golf Club?) Monthly Medal 15k Gold Golf Medal
The slightly elevated 'PGC' is found on this highly stylized and ornate 15k gold crossed clubs golf medal from 111 years ago. It is thought to be from the Palmetto Golf Club in Aiken South Carolina. This club was founded in 1892 by Thomas Hitchcock and has later been in the hands of Donald Ross, Alister MacKenzie, Rees Jones and most recently Gil Hanse. With extreme aesthetic appeal matching prized medal design dating 14 years back to the 1800's and across the pond, this medal will shine bright in a golf collection of either medals and or early golf antiquities. It is 12.9 grams and stamped 15k gold along with other time-period specific notations. 1 1/4"
