1902 Ogdens Guinea Gold Golf Vardon V Braid Open Champions Cigarette Card
Braid was a member of "The Great Triumvirate" with Harry Vardon and J.H. Taylor. He won five British Opens in ten years, and was regarded as Britain's professional match-play champion Harry Vardon won the Open Championship a record six times (1896, 1898, 1899, 1903, 1911, 1914) and was the 1900 U.S. Open champion. He, James Braid, and John Henry Taylor formed the 'Great Triumvirate' of the three renowned British golfers at the turn of the century. The three Englishmen combined to win the Open Championship 16 out of 21 times spanning from 1894-1914. Vardon, passed away in 1937, long before autographs were the popular pursuit as they are today.
