1901 'Out Door Games Cricket And Golf' Limited Edition Book by Lyttelton
The golf section in this book includes chapters on sea-side and Inland links, nerve and temperament, and characteristics and development of the game. All with an entertaining pre 1900 perspective. Some of the apparently preservative free hand made paper within the book exhibits foxing and the goat skin vellum cover, from lack of humidity, has tightened over the years creating some slight curling of the boards. Nonetheless, the contents of the book warrant addition to any golf library and this edition also has some beautiful color plates of “A famous Caddy of Bruntsfield Links” and “Old Alick (Hole Maker).
