In 1947 Augusta National started a program of giving each player a gift as a token of appreciation for their attending the Masters. This program was expanded in 1953 to give a womens gift to ladies joining a player at the Masters. From this series one of the most desired gifts both in 1958 when it was initially gifted, and today in the Masters collectibles market is the 14K Gold Charm. Offered here the charm measures 1 1/8 inch diameter which encompasses the traditional United States logo of the Masters Tournament. Engraved on the reverse of charm is 1958 Masters Tournament and 14K. When you think of some of the other yearly gifts ladies received in that time frame-Travel clock, manicure set and handkerchiefs. It is not hard to see why this was at the top of the list of favorite gifts. Not to mention that one of the most handsome players of the day, Arnold Palmer, charged to his first Masters victory in 1958. This is the same series of gifts that brought you the popular 1971 issued womens 14K Gold Brooch.
