In the summer of 1994,prior to the start of his college golf career at Stanford University Tiger Woods often favored signing autographs in red. The color of the Stanford Cardinal. In the summer of 1994, Tiger played in the Western Amateur event. The Western Amateur was held at Pointe of Woods in Benton Harbour, Michigan. When signing autographs at that event he used predominatly a red sharpie. Our consignor had the foresight at that event to pickup a Titleist 2 golf ball and have the young phenom autograph it. That ball is offered here presenting with a "9" strength of signature against the white golf ball which does show signs of use. Tiger would go on to win the Western Amateur defeating Chris Riley and earning an exemption into the PGA Tour event the Western Open in 1995, turn pro in 1996, and shortly after that season cease signing golf balls for fans. This is a policy he still stands by today. James Spence Authentication has reviewed this Tiger Woods signed golf ball and renders it Letter of Authenticity on the lot.
