Silverplate Vardon Cup w/ Embossed Lettering & Hammered-Like Surface in Wood Case

Harry Vardon won the 1900 US Open as well as an astounding six Open Championships. He was likely golf's first superstar. Vardon is still known for his famous grip and was in the inaugural 1974 World Golf Hall of Fame class with Jones and Nicklaus among others. The trophy in this lot with his namesake is the 'Vardon Cup' and measures 12" height x 6" diameter, with a case that is 10"high x 12" width. Excellent is its condition grade.A signed letter of from PGA Historian Bob Denney will accompany this lot.
