Redwood City PING AX Very Rare Experimental Model - Pat. Pending 11

The birth of the Ping AX was way back in 1959 at the famous Redwood City garage. Tirelessly working on his renowned club, the Norwegian born Karsten Solheim is putting the finishing touches to the rev-elating putter. By hollowing out the center and cutting two slots in the bottom of the putter head, Solheim redistributed the weight to the heel and toe, and not the center of the block. All heel and toe weighted putters were birthed from Solheim's vision. Despite not as appealing to the eye as the others, the technology of the Ping AX was heads above the rest. The large sweet-spot was due to the greater amount of weight in the heel and toe. The launching point for the Anser that would come years later started right here with this putter, the Ping AX. Please see extensive visual review from images with this lot for condition questions. This era of Solheim work has always found educated collectors anxious to bid.
