1953 US Open at Oakmont Official Program - Ben Hogan Winner

The 1953 season for Ben Hogan was appropriately deemed the 'Triple Crown of Golf' after improbable wins at The Masters, The US Open and The Open Championship. The Open Championship overlapped the 1953 PGA Championship, keeping Hogan from having a shot to win all four majors that year. During the second leg, Hogan got off to a fast start at the 1953 U.S. Open when he shot a 67 in the first round and went on to complete the rare dominant wire-to-wire win. Hogan shot a 72 in the second round and went on to win by six strokes over Sam Snead and the field. The historic Oakmont Country Club has hosted nine U.S. Open tournaments. The win at Oakmont Country Club in 1953 marked Hogan's fourth and final U.S. Open triumph. Offered here is a program in fair to good condition, though the cover shows creasing and wear.
