Lot #17: Tiger Woods Signed 2001 Masters SERIES Badge #R04244 BGS Auto Grade 9

Description

Tiger Woods Signed 2001 Masters SERIES Badge #R04244 BGS Auto Grade 9

This badge is "As grand as it gets!," as Jim Nantz chronicled the historic finish it gained admittance for. Head and shoulders above its 2001 Masters Tournament series badge contemporaries is this exemplar, signed by champion Tiger Woods across the front with his jet black, sit-down formation penmanship certainly - closing in on perfection as it was granted a dazzling '9' grade. It's the nicest Tiger signature we have seen on this badge, clearly not obtained at the course. Four years after Tiger Woods won his first Masters Tournament he capped off his 'Tiger Slam' fittingly with his second Masters Tournament victory. The plastic series badge with a hologram stripe across the top quadrant was worn on the hallowed Augusta National Golf Club grounds, bearing the year-specific design incorporating the club and tournament's co-founders Bobby Jones and Clifford Roberts. Woods' cumulative tally of 272 was a pair of strokes clear of runner-up David Duval and the field, for the Big Cat's second green jacket and sixth major championship. Is it a Grand Slam, Tiger? "I think if you can put all four trophies on your coffee table, you can make a pretty good case for it," 25-year-old Woods quipped to a media member upon completion of his 'Tiger Slam' at the 2001 Masters. Whatever you want to call it, this was undoubtedly the single greatest stretch in modern day golf, appropriately finished. This polarizing lot, featuring a 2001 Masters Series Badge #R04244 is sure to garner significant interest, checking many boxes including the surging and inclusive general ticket category. Beckett has reviewed this signature and their encapsulation of authenticity #15490179 comes with this badge.
