The posed King of Golf Bobby Jones was captured donning his patented center hair part, shirt and tie in this outstanding post-swing by nearby New York, New York studio Underwood & Underwood, a full-body shot at Winged Foot and eventual 1929 US Open champion for this crystal clear Type I photo. The USGA championship saw Bobby Jones open up with a first round 69, including a blistering 31 on the back nine outstanding in all regards. At the end of four rounds of play Jones remained tied with Al Espinosa. The 36-hole playoff the next day saw Jones put a staggering 23 stroke exclamation point win in posting his third US Open Championship. As outstanding as Jones' 8th major winning performance was during the '29 Championship, this golfing 'perfect swing' photo a year prior to his 'Grand Slam' takes greatness to another level.
