Standard Golf Co. Mills Patent Sunderland Play Club
The Standard Golf Company of Sunderland was the best known manufacturer of early aluminum head clubs. The English company became more well known as Standard Mills because of Sir William Mills and his production of Mills bombs (hand grenades) in World War I. Contained in this lot is a Standard Golf Co. Sunderland Braid Mills with a medium lie. There is nicking throughout the head, with the majority of its head stamps in the crown and sole still legible. A custom grip has been added. 39 1/
