1931 Intercollegiate Golf Association Contestant Badge - George Dunlap Win

Employing aesthetically please advanced contestant badge design concepts is this 1932 Intercollegiate Golf Championship Contestant Badge, issued to only the contestants vying for the crown in their level of play that week. Scalloped edges lining this badge, with ruby red and green enamel accents throughout the gold-tone 'ICCAA' front parallel the USGA badges for the US Open, US Amateur and other championships from this same time period. The eventual 1933 US Amateur champion, George Dunlap of Princeton, defended his title claimed victory over his fellow collegiate golfers during the tournament at Olympia Fields Country Club just outside of Chicago, Illinois. The difficult acquisition, as visually described in the accompanying photos, presents nicely with little wear. 1 1/4" diameter
