Nicklaus, Palmer, & Player Signed Golf Balls & Photos in Framed Shadow Box
Luminaries Arnold Palmer, Jack Nicklaus, and Gary Player were deservingly crowned golf's "Big Three" in the early 1960's, shortly after Jack turned professional. The revered group is credited with popularizing and commercializing the sport during the television age of golf. After it was all said and done they made claim to a remarkable 13 Masters victories and 34 major championships, with Jack's 18 still sitting securely atop the golf world. Player's nine Majors are tied for fourth all-time with Ben Hogan, and The King won seven major championships. This deluxe matted and framed shadowbox display tastefully exhibits two signatures from each of the Big Three, who often went by the monikers 'The Golden Bear,' 'The King' and 'The Black Knight.' Each has signed a golf ball mounted just below a signed action shot photograph of the respectful golfing legend. The types of balls signed only adds to the bidders' intrigue - Palmer on marked Titleist, Nicklaus on Maxfli DT 100, and Gary Player on a signature ball. "Best wishes" was added by Arnie's secretary on the photo, not an uncommon practice at the busy office. Search no more, here is your new talking point piece. 31 1/2" x 10 1/4" x 3 1/4." James Spence Authentication (JSA) has reviewed these signatures and their auction letter of authenticity comes with this lot.
