Western Golf Association Championship Sealed Medal
Customary of the Western Golf Association's medal presentation for hosted tournament such as the Western Open in the 1980's is this undated Western Golf Association Championship Sealed Medal. The original nameplate from this award has been removed. Pre-dating the 20th century in 1899, until 1996 The Western Open was the longest running PGA Tour event aside from the US Open and Open Championship. Along with those two tournaments, this was too considered a premier tournament and major championship for many player, press members and spectators alike. The Western Open yielded many of the greatest champions of golf in Walter Hagen, Tiger Woods, Byron Nelson, and Arnold Palmer.
