1969 US Amateur at Oakmont CC Press Armband
Not many of these are floating around for public consumption. A rare piece from the historic Oakmont Country Club 1969 US Amateur Championship. The USGA tournament would see Steve Melnyk's 286 win by three over Vinny Giles III and the field that week. The 2,142 entrants to the tournament would be the largest to date for the US Amateur. This armband belonged to a member of the Pittsburgh Press who covered the event for the evening newspaper.
