Doug Ford Signed 8x10 Photo - Holding Trophy
The late Doug Ford signed this trophy ceremony photograph in black sharpie. Doug Ford captured the medalist honors in qualifying for the 1955 PGA, and then went on to capture the Championship for only the fourth time this was accomplished while the event was decided by match play. Ford, competing in his first PGA Championship, became the first player since Tom Creavy in 1931 to win on his initial attempt when he won 4 & 3 in match play over Cary Middlecoff in the final match. Two years later he would slip on the green jacket. James Spence Authentication (JSA) has reviewed this signature and their auction letter of authenticity comes with this lot.
AUCTION CLOSING RULES:
Place your bids now as this auction will end at 9:00pm ET Sunday, September 20th with EXTENDED BIDDING to follow. When placing INITIAL bid, you must agree to the terms BEFORE confirming your bid. All items that have received multiple bids in the auction will remain open until no items have received a bid within a 15 minute time period (at 10pm EST, the countdown clock will be adjusted to a 5 minute interval). 1. You must place your initial bids BEFORE extended bidding begins to bid on the item in extended bidding
2. During extended bidding, you are allowed to bid only on items you PREVIOUSLY placed a bid on.
3. All lots that are active in extended bidding will close at the same time, and those with only ONE or NO BIDS will close at 9pm EST
