Jack Nicklaus Signed Official Used 1980 PGA Championship Thursday Scorecard - 17th of 18 Majors
Few pieces give a visual and contextual nod to golf history as much as this prized possession does, the 18-time major Jack Nicklaus' signed and used official first round Thursday scorecard amidst clinching a major victory. The 1980 PGA Championship saw Jack Nicklaus make history tying Walter Hagen for most PGA crowns (five), and notching the largest margin of victory since the event was switched to stroke play in 1958 . This card as issued by the PGA, carried and filled out that day by US Open winner Jerry Pate comes duly signed in pencil by Scorer Pate and Contestant Jack Nicklaus. It bears Jack's personal check marks of acknowledgment above each score during his steady even par 70 total. The 9:24 starting tee time in the upper left-hand corner. The official scorecard bears consistent use from traveling 18 holes around the course with Morgan. The verso of scorecard bears PGA and host course Oak Hill logos. Jack Nicklaus match used memorabilia represents a market on the rise as the Golden Bear marked his 80th birthday earlier this year and it looks like his 18 majors will stand for likely a very long time. This first round scorecard from one of his record setting 18 A letter of from PGA Historian Emeritus Bob Denney will accompany this lot. Also James Spence Authentication (JSA) provides a second letter of authenticity for the signatures of Morgan and Nicklaus which appear on this scorecard.

All items that have received multiple bids in the auction will remain open until no items have received a bid within a 15 minute time period (at 10pm EST, the countdown clock will be adjusted to a 5 minute interval). 2. During extended bidding, you are allowed to bid only on items you PREVIOUSLY placed a bid on.
3. All lots that are active in extended bidding will close at the same time, and those with only ONE or NO BIDS will close at 9pm EST
