1956 PGA Championship at Blue Hills G&CC Contestant Badge - Jack Burke Winner
The PGA championship field contained only 128 players this year that would have received these badges. The badge of contestants admittance that year for the PGA was an enamel faced 1 ½” x 2 ½” money clip which carried engraving 1956 on its facing side. The example offered here still retains all it's original enamel. The reverse of this memento carries stampings of where these matches were contested "Blue Hill Golf & Country Club" "Canton, Mass" and the date July 20-24. This colorful red, white, blue and silver players clip was on site to see Jack Burke's finest season in his Hall of Fame career, a year which started with a win at the Masters and ended with a second Major as he captured the 1956 PGA Championship. This badge presents well and is in excellent condition. This relic of competition at golfs highest level comes directly from the PGA where it has resided for over 75 years. From the collection of PGA REACH, with a certificate of authenticity accompanying this lot.

AUCTION CLOSING RULES:
This auction will end at 9:00pm EST Sunday, April 14th, with EXTENDED BIDDING to follow. All items that have received multiple bids in the auction will remain open until no items have received a bid within a 15 minute time period (at 10pm EST, the countdown clock will be adjusted to a 5 minute interval)
1. You must place your initial bids BEFORE extended bidding begins in order to bid on the item in extended bidding
2. During extended bidding, you are allowed to bid only on items you PREVIOUSLY placed a bid on.
3. All lots that are active in extended bidding will close at the same time, and those with only ONE or NO BIDS will close at 9pm EST
