1926 US Open at Scioto Country Club USGA Armband - Bobby Jones Victory!
The 1926 US Open at Scioto saw Bobby Jones claim the title over Joe Turnesa by 1 stroke. This was Jones' second Major victory of the year, having won the British Open just two weeks earlier. Jones was the first golfer to claim both the US Open and British Open titles in the same year, and would repeat the feat 4 years later in 1930. I'm sure Joe would have loved the title of US Open champion, though his pain was surely augmented by taking home the winner's share of the purse ($500), as Jones was an amateur and as such, unable to earn money through winnings. Offered here is an armband from the 1926 US Open at Scioto. The bold red band comes in great condition and it highly presentable. This piece of Bobby Jones history measures 15 1/2" x 3".
