1933 Augusta National Golf Club Bobby Jones Course FDC Envelope
Wow! Have these become popular items. This is one of the more seldom seen cachets with it's 'Red Ink' version. Granted it was signed by Bobby Jones, but The Golf Auction had a similar one of these Augusta National 1933 course opening cachets sell for $4372 in the 2016 Masters week auction. Used to help promote membership at Augusta National, also known at that time as Robert T. Jones course (see photo), this unique FDC contains the original Augusta, GA postmark from January 13, 1933 (the official opening day of the course) in red ink. The FDC was mailed to a Arthur Sanden in Bricelyn, Minn. Writing on the front declares the following: Augusta National Golf Club Robert T. (Bobby) Jones Course Opening Jan. 13, 1933 Augusta, Ga.
Please note: This auction will end at 7:00pm EST on Sunday, October 2nd with EXTENDED BIDDING to follow. All items in the auction will remain open until no items have received a bid within a 15 minute time period. All lots are free to be bid on until extended bidding has ended
