Lanny Wadkins won the 1977 PGA Championship at Pebble Beach in a sudden-death playoff over Gene Littler to claim his lone major victory. Wadkins also played for the American Ryder Cup team eight times, as well as captaining the team in 1995. Here we have Wadkins' money clip from the 1997 PGA Championship at Winged Foot Golf Club won by Davis Love III.
One of the top players in the world during the mid-1970s, he is the first to shoot 63 in a major championship to win the 1973 U.S. Open. He ranked second in the world on Mark McCormack's world golf rankings in both 1974 and 1975 behind Jack Nicklaus. Miller won 25 PGA Tour events, including two majors. Oakmont is the site of his first and only US Open major victory.
"The Golden Bear" Jack Nicklaus won the Masters six times, 1963-1965-1966-1972-1975 and 1986. Jack also won 12 other Major tournaments, 73 PGA and 10 Senior PGA tournaments. He played on 6 Ryder Cup teams, being captain in 1983 and 1987. Jack also has been the captain of the US Presidential team in 1998-2003-2005 and 2007.
