Denny Shute (D-1974) Signed Card - 3 Time Major Champion
Shute was an American golfer who won three major championships in the 1930s. Denny was born in Cleveland and won the 1933 British Open at St Andrews in a playoff. In addition to the St. Andrews victory, Denny was also the 1936 and 1937 PGA Championships victor, then conducted as match play. He was the last man to win consecutive PGA Championships before Tiger Woods did so in 1999 and 2000. Shute was a member of the U.S. team in the Ryder Cup on three occasions: 1931, 1933, and 1937. He was elected to the World Golf Hall of Fame in the veterans category in 2008, having passed away in 1974. This PSA DNA encapsulated card is signed by Shute and has the notations "Tied for third a(t) Western Open with Walter Hagen and Bob Shave" and below "Winner of British Open 1933. The card itse;f measures 3" by 2."

This auction will end at 9:00pm EST Sunday, June 16th (Father's Day) with EXTENDED BIDDING to follow. All items that have received multiple bids in the auction will remain open until no items have received a bid within a 15 minute time period (at 10pm EST, the countdown clock will be adjusted to a 5 minute interval)
1. You must place your initial bids BEFORE extended bidding begins in order to bid on the item in extended bidding
2. During extended bidding, you are allowed to bid only on items you PREVIOUSLY placed a bid on.
3. All lots that are active in extended bidding will close at the same time, and those with only ONE or NO BIDS will close at 9pm EST
