c. 1957 Sam Snead Cardboard 'Golf's All-Time Leading Money Winner' POS Wilson Golf Equipment Ad
A patented straw hat and a jovial look on Sam Snead's face with two golf balls in hand is depicted in this oversize, in-color cardboard Wilson point of sale display cutout with an intact easel back to stand up. The longtime Wilson Staff member never wavered from his choice. Catching the attention of advertising collectors here, as it once did for sporting goods shoppers, is this blue, red, yellow black promotional effort featuring Snead holding up a paper - like Wilt Chamberlain after his 100 points - for the ultimate testimonial. "Wilson golf equipment has always been my partner on the fairways...try it and you'll see why - Sam Snead, Golf's (then) all-time leading money winner and member of the Wilson Advisory Staff." The 'Win With Wilson' campaign dates this Slammin' Sammy piece circa 1957. Snead still holds the record for most PGA Tour victories, now sharing that with Tiger, at 82.
