c.1931 Augusta National Golf Club Original Photo of 2nd Fairway & 5th Green Construction
This original picture features an aerial shot of an early Augusta National Golf Club's 2nd hole fairway and 5th green. Hole numbers were of course changed following the inaugural Masters Tournament of 1934, with the front nine becoming the back nine and vice versa. The present day 11th: White Dogwood's fairway and 14th: Chinese Fir's green are seen in great antiquity in this original picture. This image has been stored in the files of the original Augusta National Golf Club's engineer Wendell P. Miller's family for over 85 years. It cries out for ownership by the finest photo libraries known with a dedication to Bobby Jones, Augusta National Golf Club or golf history as an emphasis. Its reverse has pencil labeling of the picture subject. Clear 8x10 image free from chipping, with slight surface wear. This photo comes directly from the family of Wendell P. Miller
