Bobby Jones Signed 1960 'Golf Is My Game' Book w/ Notation & Original 1935 Photo
Signed simply 'Bob' by Robert (Bobby) Jones, this specific version of the iconic 'Golf is My Game' book by Jones comes from the Glenna Collett estate. The inscription from Jones states "For Glenna and Eddie, As ever, Bob." Included in this lot is a picture of Jones with Glenna's daughter Glennie, teaching her the fundamentals of the game. On the back of this photo is a pencil note explaining the picture content. Jones was a career lawyer that co-founded the Augusta National Golf Club and had well-documented success in the game of golf as a life-long amateur. Glenna Collett was considered the best golfer of her day, in the 1920's. She was a career amateur golfer, like Jones, and won six US Amateur Championships. James Spence Authentication (JSA) has reviewed the signature and their auction letter of authenticity will come with this lot.
AUCTION CLOSING RULES:
This auction will end at 9:00pm EST Sunday, May 19th, with EXTENDED BIDDING to follow. All items that have received multiple bids in the auction will remain open until no items have received a bid within a 15 minute time period (at 10pm EST, the countdown clock will be adjusted to a 5 minute interval)
1. You must place your initial bids BEFORE extended bidding begins in order to bid on the item in extended bidding
2. During extended bidding, you are allowed to bid only on items you PREVIOUSLY placed a bid on.
3. All lots that are active in extended bidding will close at the same time, and those with only ONE or NO BIDS will close at 9pm EST
