Arnold Palmer & Gary Player Signed Official 1988 PGA Seniors Championship Scorecard
R.I.P. to The King. We'll never see anyone in golf as beloved as Arnold Palmer, and his career accomplishments are overshadowed by his impact on the game. The late Palmer passed away Sunday, September 25 at age 87. Nine-time Major winner Gary Player's official scorecard from the 1988 PGA Seniors Championship is available in this lot, with signatures from Player and Arnold Palmer. Player would go on to win the 1988 General Foods PGA Seniors' Championship, hosted by the PGA National Golf Club in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida. The signatures from two of golfs' most iconic players are in pencil, with Player as the Contestant and Palmer as the Marker. The King won the PGA Seniors Championship in 1984. The scorecard has a sticker tag with Gary Player's name, start time, and round inside. The scorecard is in good condition, showing only some signs of age in the discoloration of the sticker but remains a great display piece. Gary Player was an accomplished member on the PGA Seniors Tour, but his nine major championships on the PGA Tour place him tied for fourth all-time. Arnold Palmer was a fan-favorite and he is widely considered a large reason that golf's popularity grew in the 1960s and 1970s. Palmer won seven major championships in his storied career.
James Spence Authentication (JSA) has reviewed the signatures and their certification of its authenticity will come with this lot.
