'British Golf Links' - 1897 Book
Published J.S. Virtue in 1897, this first edition book covers 51 of the United Kingdom's most appealing links courses, including Deal, Aberdovey, and Brighton. A snapshot of the late Victorian golfing scene, much mention is made of clubs, players, courses and club houses. All the main clubs are written about often accompanied by photographs showing matches in progress, club houses, and more. An illustrated book that reveals the history of Britain's finest links courses accompanied by Hutchinson's text.
We at The Golf Auction are proud to have the opportunity to represent Mark and Cynthia Brooks in the auctioning of items from their collection of golf books, art work and mementos assembled over a PGA career which began in 1983 and has encompassed a remarkable 799 career PGA tournaments. This great run of golf at its highest level has been highlighted by seven PGA Tour wins, his play as a victorious member of the 1996 United States Presidents Cup team, and of course his Major triumph at the 1996 PGA Championship.
