Wright & Ditson St. Andrews Driver
A Wright & Ditson St. Andrews driver is offered here for bidders. It measures 34" to the heel and shows wear to the head and loose whipping, please see photographs. Wright & Ditson was founded by baseball Hall of Famer George Wright and his business partner Henry Ditson in 1871 and produced sporting goods of all kinds, including golf clubs and balls. George Wright was responsible for bringing some of the most well known names in golf to the US around the turn of the century, convincing A. H. Findlay to come to the US and put his artistic touch to a line of clubs for Wright & Ditson, as well as playing a part in the Henry Vardon exhibition in 1900. Wright was also able to convince Albert Goodwill Spalding to leave his office work and venture into sporting goods.
