Vintage Dunlop Golf Ball Box - Hardest To Get
This lot features a very hard to find Dunlop golf ball box. The carrying handle is inscribed to the lid and front panels “Dunlop Golf Balls" and the hinged lid opens to reveal The Dunlop Caddie figure on the inside of the lid. This box was used as a display piece in shops that sold Dunlop balls and both compartments hold can hold up to 48 golf balls. The box exterior shows much wear and age, the inside remains in good condition. It measures 10 1/2" x 7 1/2" x 4 3/4" and is seldom seen at auction. Dunlop began making golf balls in 1909 and in 1917 started using the Dunlop Caddie in their advertising. A must have piece for the Dunlop collectors.
