Tin of Pecora Golf Ball Paint With The Rhino

Contained in this lot is a Vintage Can of Rhino Brand Pecora Golf Ball Enamel - Philadelphia, Pa. Categorize this piece under those that you don't see often. Their 1911 advertisement in 'Golf' publication likely sheds the product in the best and most accurate light, as its consumer pitch states: "Golssy white-always, water-proof. Weather-proof. Forms a tough, elastic surface that will not crack, check, chip, peel nor blister. Easily, quickly put on by hand. Price 25 cents per can. Enough for 50 new balls. At your dealer's, or give us his name and send 25 cents, and we will send at once." This pitch was given by the Pecora Golf Ball Enamel brand that was established in 1862. Their rhinoceros logo matches their product in toughness and is illustrated on this royal blue can circa 1914.
