Tiger Woods Signed 1992 Newspaper Photo with 1992 Nissan Open Ticket - Framed
Taking a couple days off of school and heading to the golf course to play in a PGA Tour tournament as a 16 year-old Sophomore in high school sounds like a dream many have had. For 16-year-old Tiger Woods in 1992 it was reality. Playing his first tournament on a sponsor's exemption at Riviera only a half of an hour away, Woods became the youngest male competitor in an official tour event that week. The California native consignor of this item found out about the story in the local newspaper, clipped the photo of 'Eldrick "Tiger' Woods" out and attended the tournament with it in hopes of securing the (very) young phenom's early penmanship. Using the mounted one day grounds ticket - February 23rd to March 1st and newspaper photo in-hand, the mission was accomplished! Tiger Woods' 1992 signature was primitive and unpracticed, four years prior to his 'Hello World' professional debut moment at the Greater Milwaukee Open, yet to evolve into the exemplar that most are familiar with. While it was not a win, this tournament was truly Tiger Woods' coming out party on the professional level. More than likely some of his competitors that week knew that they had to get their wins then before Woods was on the tour to stay.17" x 12" The ticket is Any One Day Grounds only ticket #36525 and was signed by competitor Frank Beard. Place your bids now as this auction will close LOT BY LOT beginning at 10:00pm ET Sunday, November 21st. When placing INITIAL bid in the auction, you must agree to the terms BEFORE confirming your bid. All items with multiple bids in the auction will be eligible for the extended bidding period. Each lot will have its OWN COUNTDOWN CLOCK set for a 30-minute interval, and the clock will extend 30-minutes from the time of the most recently placed bid for that lot. If no bids are placed on that lot during a 30-minute period, the lot will close. Place your bids now!
1. You must place your initial bids BEFORE extended bidding begins to bid on the item in extended bidding
2. During extended bidding, you are allowed to bid only on items you PREVIOUSLY placed a bid on.
3. All lots with only ONE or NO BIDS will automatically close at 10pm ET
4. All available lots will begin closing on a LOT BY LOT basis at 10pm ET
