Tiger Woods Classic Signed 1996 B.C. Open Pro-Am Scorecard with 'Daddy'
Many weekend golfers get paired with Tiger Woods, and then they wake up. Our consignor was fortunate enough to have this once in a lifetime experience, playing in Tiger's group during the Pro-Am of the 1996 B.C. Open. 1996 of course gave Tiger Woods his professional golf status and first two wins on tour at the Las Vegas Invitational and Walt Disney World Oldsmobile Classic. Scoring the round would be his daughter not fully aware of the magnitude of the event. 'Daddy' played remarkably well with the spotlight on with a score of 84, Tiger carding a casual warmup round of 72. That round on September 18, 1996 came two weeks prior to his Las Vegas Invitational win (1st) and four prior to his second at the Walt Disney World Oldsmobile Classic. Turning professional on August 27th was the right move. Tiger signed the "scorecard" for the daughter of his playing partner in black sharpie just above the scoring. In 1996 many had a feeling that Tiger's career was just in the infancy and great things were to come, and they were right. James Spence Authentication (JSA) has reviewed this signature and their auction letter of authenticity comes with this lot.
