Here we present the unique opportunity for three (3) individuals to play one round of golf at Oakmont Country Club , near Pittsburgh, PA on September 20, 2022 with Bob Ford, legendary Head Golf Professional at Oakmont CC and Seminole Golf Club, and annual starter at the U.S. Open. This date is fixed and cannot be changed.
The benefactor of the proceeds for this package is the Golf Heritage Society, a 50+ year old non profit organization whose mission is to promote an appreciation for the history and traditions of golf and to foster friendship among its members, both men and women, worldwide. Oakmont Country Club is without question one of the finest clubs in existence, frequently in the top 5 of Golf Digest’s list of best courses in America. Oakmont is home to nine (9) U.S. Open Championships, six (6) U.S. Amateurs, two (2) U.S. Women’s Opens, three (3) PGA Championships and other legendary events.
Bob Ford, your playing partner and host, recently retired from OCC after serving as head professional for 37 years. Bob Ford has won many accolades during his career, including the USGA’s highest honor, the Bobby Jones Award in 2017. This award is bestowed upon the individual who best demonstrates the spirit, personal character and respect for the game as exhibited by Bob Jones. Bob Ford has played in three (3) U.S. Opens, two (2) U.S. Senior Opens, and ten (10) PGA Championships. In addition to being a gifted player, Mr. Ford has also mentored more than 100 golf professionals during his career.
We are proud to offer in this auction an opportunity for three (3) individuals to play one round of golf at Oakmont Country Club with Bob Ford on September 20, 2022, and this package also includes lunch, use of the locker room facilities, driving range and access to the pro shop! Caddie fees are included but please note it is highly recommended that each player tip their caddie as per Oakmont custom. If you need a golf cart, the Golf Heritage Society will see to it that your wish is granted. You will be given a tour of the entire clubhouse where history will unfold before your very eyes knowing all of the greats such as Bobby Jones, Ben Hogan, Arnold Palmer, Jack Nicklaus and Tiger Woods have played this course and walked inside the clubhouse just as you will on September 20, 2022. Please note the winning bidder of this package will pay a reduced buyer’s premium of just 15% on the winning total bid. Bid early and often for this once in a lifetime opportunity!
