The Augusta National Golf Club Eisenhower Tree Gift - Test Sample
Finalizing the perfect production formula for the Augusta National Golf Club commissioned for a member gift to commemorate the then recently fallen Eisenhower Tree this test #789 was made. The formula would work. And once the manufacturing company received the wood from that fallen historic tree it was finely crafted in relief as this example prior. The differences between this and the finalized Augusta National Golf Club are the wood grain of course, with different types of trees used (Eisenhower was a Loblolly Pine), and the gold-tone plaque that would be added to the ANGC gift. It was General Dwight D. Eisenhower's request for it to be removed, Augusta National obliged thus its name The Eisenhower Tree - and another ANGC members gift of class was born. Further clarification: this was a test example/sample as stated in the title, description and shown in the photos themselves, or a proof of concept by the manufacturer crafted with different wood prior to receiving the Eisenhower Tree wood for the actual finished product gifted by Augusta National to the members. It is the same design as the Eisenhower Tree gift, thus the tree name is the design and not the composition of course. It is of great importance and second to only the rare ANGC gift itself. 8 1/2" x 11 1/2" x 1 1/2"
