A.Palmer, T.Watson, & Five Other Open CHAMPS Who Won at Royal Birkdale Flag
This Open Championship flag represents clean, sit-down signatures from some of the greatest champions that the oldest major championship has ever seen when contested at Royal Birkdale. With each signature nicely spaced out, correctly facing and in black sharpie, with the exception of Irishman Padraig Harrington's green, this champions flag signed by eight winners is of the highest presentation value. 1961 Open champion at Birkdale Arnold Palmer's signature is the flag's key, with a difficult full name penmanship by five-time Golfer of the Year Tom Watson who won his final Open at Birkdale in 1983. It should be noted that the late Peter Thomsom, a fellow five-time winner who claimed his first and last title at Birkdale, has also left his signature in the bottom right corner. Signed by Arnold Palmer, Tom Watson, Lee Trevino, Ian Baker-Finch, Mark O'Meara, Peter Thomson, Padraig Harrington, & Johnny Miller. This flag represents all those who conquered Royal Birkdale prior to Jordan Spieth's win in 2017. James Spence Authentication (JSA) has reviewed these signatures and their auction letter of authentication comes with this lot.
