Jack Nicklaus Signed 1961 National Amateur Championship Program

This copy of the 1961 United States Amateur program, is as clean as you will find. Easily attaining Near-Mint status over its lily white pages and flawless cover. This U.S.G.A. produced publication was for the Championship of U.S. Amateur golf contested at Pebble Beach. At this event, Jack steamrolled his fellow amateur opponent, Dudley Wysong 8 and 6 in match play. Clearly showing how he would have a U.S.G.A. Major Championship already under his belt in less then a year. Strong spine with all pages intact on this blazing beauty of a program. To this day, Jack still claims that this was the second of his 20 career Majors, not 18 as the media famously quotes, but to Nicklaus' chagrin the trend of the day is to not credit his two Amateur titles as Majors. Jack Nicklaus has signed the cover of this program with his traditional black sharpie autograph. James Spence Authentication (JSA) provides a letter of authenticity with this lot.
